So is it really worth booking your ski holiday independently? How much will you really save? Well I've done some research and have compared the prices for you. I've used
Inghams as they are the cheapest tour operator to use the Flora apartments (and even included a link to their site so you can check for yourself). Their prices were taken from their website on February 24th 2008 and include an earlybird discount, and an online discount. I've based the prices on arriving February 28th 2009 (the middle week of the season), and flying from Gatwick. The same ski school is used both by Inghams and myself. Prices are for 2 adults and not per person.
This is how they compare...
| | Tour Operator (Prices for 2 adults) | Independent (Prices for 2 adults) |
| Accommodation | £603 | £250 |
| Flights | Included | £90 |
| Transfers | Included | £45 |
| Breakfast | Included | Not included |
| 6 day ski package | £360 | £292 |
| Total | £963 | £637 |
| Saving | | - £326 |
So you can see, unless having your breakfast included is particularly important to you, there are savings to be made.
This is a genuine comparison of what I believe to be the most typical ski holiday in Borovets. If you are aware of any tour operator who can undercut these prices please let me know via the
enquiry form and I will happily update this information.
